It is written with Spanish at the top of the page and English at the bottom. This is a gorgeous book about the sanctity of family. Each page describes how a family member's hands care for a child- from the parents, to siblings and grandparents. The pictures capture the essence of how safe a child should feel with their family. In one picture, the protagonist is encouraged by her grandfather to touch the most beautiful star. It then follows the child and her promises to care for those who cared for her once she becomes the caretaker. A special read for all of us, particularly us adults who are now all grown up and can reflect on our childhood and all our caretakers gave to us and are now returning the favor. Symbols of flowers and trees are used throughout the text with their significance explained at the end of the book.
