F is for Fiesta

So far I've found it hard to find age-appropriate ABC teaching books for kids who are actually still learning their ABC's and not yet reading. For those with a more introductory level background to either reading or Spanish, I highly recommend "F is for Fiesta", which uses rhyming text with a sentence using each letter of the alphabet with fiesta themed vocabulary, such as adornos and biscochitos to start. There is also a page describing a brief intro to the Spanish alphabet, including the phonetics and reviewing particularly the letters that aren't in English and how they are used. I think this would be a super cute birthday gift idea for any child you want to expose to the joys of the Spanish language, making it fun but without being overly intimidating.
